The Short Story: VCU trailed 29-18 with 7:07 left in the third quarter before going on a 16-3 run to take the lead at 34-32. The Rams took the lead for good on Taya Robinson's 3-point attempt to go up 37-35 with 8:52 remaining in the game and battled to hold off multiple Billikens' rallies.

- The Billikens went on an 8-2 run to start the second half before VCU ramped up the defensive pressure and started a 16-3 run to retake the lead at 34-32.
- After Saint Louis led 35-34 to begin the fourth quarter, Robinson's 3-pointer put VCU in the lead for good.
- The Billikens would get within two points three times during the fourth quarter, but the Rams answered each time and pulled away for the win.
