RAMS FALL TO ODU IN SEASON OPENER, 14-9

The Short Story: VCU trailed 9-4 at halftime but scored three goals in 45 seconds to get within 10-7 with 16:10 left in the second half. The Rams were unable to get any closer as ODU held off VCU's comeback attempt.

  • The Rams came out strong in the second half, holding ODU scoreless for the first 11:56 before the Monarchs took a 10-6 lead.
  • VCU responded with three goals in 45 seconds with two coming from Del Rossi and one from McTavish to get the Rams within 10-7.
  • ODU outscored VCU 4-2 in the final 15:56 of the contest.
