RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Women's Basketball alumna
Nyra Williams is set to continue her basketball career overseas in Ireland for LYIT Donegal as part of the Victory Scholar Program.

Williams, a 2020 graduate of VCU, will be pursuing a Master of Science with a focus on Big Data Analytics. In addition to her studies, she will play for the Women's National League team LYIT Donegal.

Williams appeared in 105 total games for VCU, making career 90 starts. She ranks 8
th all-time at VCU in career assists with 315 and led VCU to back-to-back Atlantic 10 Championship games. Williams also led VCU to the programs first regular season conference championship as the Rams finished as A-10 Co-Champions with Fordham in 2018-19.

The Women's National League is comprised of 12 teams and Donegal will be playing their first season in the league in Division One.

The Victory Scholar program aims to grow future leaders, create ambassadors for Ireland throughout the United States and help athletes develop a more globalized perspective. Those in the program will also educate children to live a healthier lifestyle, grow confidence and raise aspirations, help develop young leaders within the community and build community involvement to ensure long-term sustainability in Ireland.
