The Short Story: Trailing 72-69 with 3:20 left in overtime, VCU went on an 8-2 run that included a 3-pointer from Nyra Williams to give VCU the lead for good at 74-72 with 41 seconds remaining.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Bonnies opened the game with a 17-11 lead with 2:16 left in the first quarter.
• The Rams responded by going on a 20-6 run that spanned just over eight minutes and gave VCU its largest lead of the game at 31-23 with 4:06 left in the second quarter.
• St. Bonaventure responded with a 12-5 run of its own and cut VCU's lead to just 36-35 at halftime.
• The Rams opened the second half by building a 54-46 lead, tying their largest of the game, with 3:34 remaining in the third. The Bonnies scored the final four points of the frame and the Rams led 54-50 going into the fourth quarter.
• The fourth quarter saw two lead changes and the score tied four times but St. Bonaventure scored a layup with 12 seconds left by Ruff to tie the game 69-69.
• Robinson had a chance to win the game in regulation but her jumper from the foul line just missed.
• In overtime, St. Bonaventure got out to a 72-69 lead before a 6-0 run by the Rams gave VCU the lead and they held off the Bonnies by going 3-of-4 at the free throw line to seal the win.
