The Short Story: VCU jumped out to a 2-0 lead just two minutes into the contest but the Spiders outscored VCU 11-2 over the next 27 minutes to take control of the game. The Rams were unable to get closer than eight goals for the remainder of the game. The loss concluded their second season as a program. VCU finished tied for sixth in the final Atlantic 10 standings after being chosen 10th in the preseason. The Rams more than doubled their win total overall and in conference play from the program's first season.
