- McTavish opened the scoring 1:08 into the second half as the Rams again started a half on a 4-0 run.
- Liberty's Brianna McCaffrey scored unassisted to make it 10-7 but couldn't stop VCU's 7-1 run to open the half as VCU held a 13-7 lead.
- That lead would grow to as large as 17-9 and the Flames would get no closer than 18-11 with 6:38 left in regulation.
