The Short Story: The Rams started the game strong and built a 4-2 lead just 15 minutes into the game but the Monarchs fought back to take a 5-4 lead at the break. The Black and Gold tied things up at five a piece early in the second half before Old Dominion outscored the Rams 5-2 the remainder of the contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Barcikowski found of the back of the net to give the Rams an early 1-0 lead 4:26 into the game. Old Dominion responded and tied the game 1-1 less than a minute later.
- Barcikowski scored her scored goal a little over five minutes later to put VCU ahead 2-1.
- The Monarchs quickly responded again, this time scoring just 21 seconds after VCU's goal to make it 2-2.
- The Rams took a 3-2 lead at 16:21 and Sofia Edmond put the Rams ahead 4-2 just over a minute later.
- ODU responded with three consecutive goals to take a 5-4 lead going into the break.
- VCU's Keriann McTavish tied things up 5-5 less than three minutes into the second half.
- The Monarchs scored two consecutive goals to built a 7-5 lead with 24:21 left in the game.
- VCU would pull within one at 7-6 but a quick ODU goal followed by three consecutive yellow cards would force the Rams to play three players down.
- ODU took scored a man-up to make it 10-6 before Nicole Morris scored a goal with 2:17 remaining in regulation but the Monarchs would hold
