VCU EDGED BY JMU 4-3 IN OVERTIME

The Short Story: The Rams jumped out to a 3-1 lead but two second half goals from JMU sent the game to overtime where Hannah Hall scored the game-winner for the Dukes.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Rams opened the scoring in the 10th minute as Tossone took the penalty corner, feeding the ball to Bohmke who lined ot up for McNamara to hit in.
  • JMU tied the score 1-1 in the 17th minute as Casey O'Donnell was able to score at the near post.
  • VCU took a 2-1 lead in the 31st minute as Weise's shot took a slight deflection before going into the goal.
  • The Rams doubled their lead and made it 3-1 in the 45th minute as McNamara scored her second goal of the game off another penalty corner. Bohmke and Tossone both assisted on the goal.
  • The Dukes would answer and close the deficit to 3-2 just over a minute later as Hall scored unassisted.
  • JMU's Melanie Kusakavitch tied the game 3-3 in the 56th minute.
  • The game went into overtime and Hall scored the game-winner for JMU just over seven minutes into the first overtime period.
