RICHMOND, Va. - VCU Women's Tennis is set to compete in five tournaments this fall, with the potential to play in as many as ten depending on results.
The Rams will kick off their fall season on the road as they travel north to College Park, Md. to compete in the Bedford Cup on Sept. 19. The Rams will then travel south to Davidson, N.C. and Elon, N.C. to participate in the A-10 Masters and the Elon Invitational respectively. Eleven days later the Rams will tackle the ITA Regional Tournament in Blacksburg, Va. The ITA Regionals will feature some of the nation's top collegiate athletes in a highly competitive individual tournament. VCU's fall schedule will conclude in Williamsburg, Va., with the Tribe Invitational on Oct. 31.
In addition to the five confirmed tournaments, the Rams could qualify for up to five more. These tournaments include the ITA All-Americans on Sept. 28 in Cary, N.C., an ITF 15K on Oct. 16 in Hilton Head, S.C., and another ITF 15K in Sumter, S.C. the following weekend on Oct. 27. The ITA Masters will be held in San Diego, Calif. on Nov. 6 and the season will conclude, if the Rams qualify, at the NCAA Individual Championships on Nov. 18 in Orlando, Fla.Â
This fall, VCU returns three A-10 First Team selections as
Tania Isabel Andrade Sabando,
Mariam Ibrahim, and
Sofia Jane Thorne return to the Rams for another year of action. The Rams also welcome two newcomers for the 2025-26 season, freshman
Amelie Brozova from the Czech Republic and
Viktoria Lackova from Slovakia. The Rams also return Head Coach Rifa Kahfiani who was named Coach of the Year in her first season in charge of the Rams.Â
