- Lee singled in the home half of the inning, but was VCU's lone baserunner to reach unaided by error until Jimenez singled to lead off the fourth frame
- After the Cavaliers added two unearned runs in the second, they took the score into double-digit territory with another four-run inning in the fourth, again tacking on four hits for a 10-0 lead
- McGrady and McCollough held off UVA in the fifth and sixth frames, but the offense wasn't able to connect for runs, leaving two Rams on base
- In the seventh and final inning, a three-run home run brought the score to its 13-0 final
- Cato Kleinman walked and Estrada singled to move him to third, but a strikeout stranded the two Rams on base to finalize the midweek game
