RICHMOND, Va. – VCU will meet four teams that reached the postseason a year ago, as well as a pair of teams that played for their conference's tournament championship, as part of a challenging 2024-25 non-conference schedule.
Paramount among VCU's non-conference tests will be its trip to the Cancun Challenge Nov. 28-30 at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya resort as well as a SupportHER game on Nov. 15 against Temple.
The three-game Cancun Challenge will include match-ups against Wisconsin and Providence, which each qualified for the WNIT last March, as well as San Diego State, which is coming off a 22-win campaign and a berth in the Mountain West Championship Game.
On Friday, Nov. 15 against Temple, the Rams will attempt to break last year's program record attendance against George Mason with a SupportHER game.
Tickets are on sale now and include two plan options, a season ticket game day plan which provides one ticket per home game and includes two reserved tickets to the game on Nov. 15 for $80. The other option, the Flex Plan, has options beginning at 10 ticket vouchers for $50. The vouchers can be used in any combination throughout the season and for general admission seating only Nov. 15.
The Rams will officially tip-off the 2024-25 campaign on Wednesday, Nov. 6 when they play host to Maryland-Eastern Shore at the Stuart C. Siegel Center.
The Black and Gold will play host to 2024 WBIT qualifier and in-state rival James Madison on Dec. 5 at the Siegel Center. The Rams will also welcome Temple (Nov. 15), Rider (Nov. 24), Delaware State (Dec. 9) and Long Island (Dec. 21) to the corner of Harrison and Broad this fall.
Road tests at Howard (Nov. 10), WNIT qualifier Old Dominion (Nov. 21) and AAC runner-up East Carolina are also on the docket.
Led by 11
th-year Head Coach and VCU all-time wins leader
Beth O'Boyle, the Rams are coming off a 26-6 mark, including 15-3 in Atlantic 10 Conference play, and the program's first WBIT berth. O'Boyle welcomes back four starters in 2024-25, including Third Team All-Atlantic 10 pick
Timaya Lewis-Eutsey (12.9 ppg, 5.1 rpg) and All-Defensive Team selection
