RICHMOND, Va. – DC Power Football Club of the USL Super League has announced the signing of former Rams
Anna Bagley, Amber DiOrio and Susanna Friedrichs.
The DC Power are set to play their inaugural season in the USL Super League, a new Division I league sanctioned as a top professional league by U.S. Soccer and placing it on par with the NWSL. The team's home stadium is Audi Field in Washington, D.C.
Bagley recently completed her VCU career, being named an All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection in 2023. Bagley played in 74 games with 67 starts over five seasons, she scored 10 goals and had 18 assists in her time with the Black and Gold.
DiOrio recently played for Pumas in Liga MX, the top Mexican women's league, and plays internationally for Puerto Rico. DiOrio was a two-time All-Atlantic 10 Second Team selection at VCU and played in 73 games for the Rams with 50 starts.
Friedrichs, who played for the Rams from 2016-19, most recently played for Napoli Femminile in Italy's Serie A, the highest league in Italy. Friedrichs has also played for the Houston Dash of the NWSL, Selfoss in Iceland and 1. FC Slovácko Ženy in the Czech Republic. Friedrichs was an All-Atlantic 10 First Team selection as a senior and played in 76 games for VCU with 72 starts.
Built for the future of women's soccer, the USL Super League has committed to U.S. Soccer's Division One standards, reflecting its collective vision to be a global leader on and off the field while providing more opportunities for more women in more communities.
The USL Super League will play on the "fall-to-summer" soccer calendar traditionally followed around the world, ensuring players are able to represent both club and country and allowing clubs to actively participate in the emerging global women's transfer market.
The team begins play on Saturday, August 17 against Carolina Ascent FC.
