VCU TRACK & FIELD ANNOUNCE 2024 OUTDOOR SCHEDULE

RICHMOND, Va.- VCU's Men's and Women's Track & Field programs revealed their 2024 outdoor schedule Thursday. The Rams' loaded spring slate includes trips to Texas, Virginia, Florida, Central Florida, N.C. State and more. 
 
VCU will kick off the season in Orlando, Fla. at the UCF Black and Gold Invitational March 15-16. The Rams will be back in town March 22-23 when they'll head to cross town rival Richmond for the Fred Hardy Invitational.
 
The Rams will divide and conquer the following weekend, as VCU will send athletes to compete at both the Texas Relays (March 27-30) at prestigious Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas, as well as the Raleigh Relays at N.C. State (March 28-30).
 
The weekend of April 5-6 will feature Rams at both the Vertklass Meeting at High Point and the Dalton Ebanks Invitational at George Mason.
 
A number of VCU competitors will travel to Florida's historic Percy Beard Track for the Tom Jones Memorial Invitational April 12-13, while others will head to the JMU Invitational on April 13.
 
The Rams will finish up the regular season with a pair of in-state meets April 19-20 -- UVA's Virginia Challenge and the New Captains Classic at Christopher Newport.
 
The 2024 Atlantic 10 Conference Outdoor Championships will take place May 4-5 at George Mason in Fairfax, Va. VCU junior Gudrun Hallgrimsdottir (hammer throw) and graduate Jocelyn Midkiff (shot put and discus) will look to repeat as A-10 champions. Sophomore Kayelyn Tate (100-meter dash) and senior Simone Pierre (100-meter hurdles) will look to build on their silver medals at last year's A-10 Outdoor Championships.
 
Senior Trevor Thomas (long jump) will look to capture gold after his silver finish in 2023 and junior David Coles (triple jump) will look to repeat as A-10 Champion.
 
Qualifying athletes will move on to Lexington, Ky. for the NCAA East Preliminary round May 22-25. Athletes who advance will head to the NCAA Outdoor Championships June 5-8 at Oregon's Hayward Field.
