WASHINGTON, D.C. – VCU Women's Basketball had three student-athletes named to the Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Conference teams as announced by the league on Monday.
 
Timaya Lewis-Eutsey was named to the Preseason All-Conference Second Team, Asare was named to the All-Conference Third Team and Parham was named to the All-Defensive Team. The Rams were selected fifth in the A-10 Preseason Poll which is voted on by the league's coaches.
 
Lewis-Eutsey was named an All-Atlantic 10 Third Team selection last season after averaging 12.9 points and 5.1 rebounds per game. She ranked second on the team in both categories. She shot 48.1 percent from the floor, ranking seventh in the A-10 and 92nd nationally.
 
Asare was the team's third leading scorer last season averaging 10.4 ppg, up from 7.1 ppg as a freshman. She led the team in 3-point shooting at 40.4 percent and shot 40.6 overall from the field. Asare added 3.2 rebounds per game as well as 1.4 assists. She was a major force defensively as well, often guarding the opposing team's best guard and helped VCU rank fourth nationally in scoring defense.
 
Parham was an All-Atlantic 10 Defensive selection a year ago after helping VCU rank fourth nationally in scoring defense last season (53.2 ppg). She led the team in rebounding with 8.4 rebounds per game and ranked fourth in the A-10. She ranked 77th nationally in total rebounds and 80th in rebounds per game. The Rams also ranked seventh nationally in rebounding margin (+9.4).
 
The Rams open the season on Nov. 6 against Maryland-Eastern Shore for a 6 p.m. tip at the Siegel Center.
