Lamar Davis has been named to the 2023 Virginia Sports Information Director (VaSID) All-State First Team for Indoor Track & Field, per the organization's release on Friday afternoon.
 
Davis' greatest achievements during the indoor season came in the long jump. The Morgan State transfer won the long jump at the Atlantic 10 Indoor Championships in Kingston, R.I., on Feb. 25, landing in the sand pit at 7.38m (24'-2.5"). Davis also won the long jump at the Virginia Tech Invitational on Jan. 14 with a season-best mark of 7.39m (24'-3"). With that jump, Davis is third all-time in VCU indoor history for the long jump. A resident of Chesterfield, Va., Davis also excelled in the 60-meter dash indoors, finishing fourth in the event at the A-10 Championships with a personal record time of 6.92.
 
The VCU men's track and field team concludes its outdoor regular season today and tomorrow, April 21-22 with the Georgia Tech Invitational in Atlanta, Ga., as well as the Virginia Challenge in Charlottesville, Va.
