The Short Story: VCU picked up steam heading before the Atlantic 10 Championship Meet in their final regular season competition as Yasmine Silmon's performances in the 100 and 400 meter hurdles highlighted a strong team performance at the JMU Invitational on Saturday. 
 
SPRINTS/HURDLES: 
 

• In the 400m Pierre Simone ran a time of 57.20 
• Nia McMillan ran a time of 58.73 in the 400m while Karah Moore clocked in at 59.16
• Rorie Spencer came away with third place in the 100m as she finished at 12.09 while Jessica Tucker ran a time of 12.28
• Spencer also earned third place in the 200m with her time of 24.79
• In the 100m hurdles, Yasmine Silmon finished in third place with her time of 14.89 while Syvanna Metcalfe and Jailah Channer finished with times of 15.48 and 16.04 respectively. 
• Silmon followed up with a victory in the 400m hurdles and a time of 1:03.04

 
DISTANCE: 
 

• In the 1500m Kristen Wheatley finished with a time of 5:10.23
• In the 3000 steeplechase Kasandra Aulenbach placed fifth with her time of 11:28.16
• Gabby Hobson finished the 5000m with a time of 18:56.78

 
JUMPS: 
 

• Tucker won the long jump with her mark of 5.57m 
• In the triple jump, Amari Jackson placed third with her mark of 11.55m while Raquel Hawkins followed in fourth with her mark of 11.40m
• Dasia Mayo finished fourth in the high jump reaching a height of 1.60m
• Alacia Myles landed in fifth place with her mark of 1.60m
• Also in the high jump, Courtney Higgins hit a mark of 1.55m

 
RELAYS: 
 

• In the 4x100m relay the VCU team of Michelle Owens, Spencer, Lauryn Freeman and Lauryn Taylor finished third with their overall time of 47.28
