Meet: VMI Team Challenge
 
Location: Lexington, VA
 
The Short Story: Young talent ruled the day once again, highlighted by sophomore Kasandra Aulenbach's personal record in the 1 Mile as VCU took part in the VMI Team Challenge on Saturday
 
DISTANCE: 
 

• In the 1 Mile, Aulenbach glided to a personal record time of 5:15.71 and a 4^th place finish

 
JUMPS: 
 

• Freshman Alacia Myles and sophomore Dasia Mayo shared 5^th place in the High Jump followed by Khalia Lyons in 7^th
• Senior Aliyah Newman soared into a 3^rd place finish in the Triple Jump posting a mark of 11.51m
• Sophomore Raquel Hawkins placed 4^th in the Triple Jump reaching a mark of 11.35
• In the long jump, junior Jessica Tucker claimed 8^th place 
• In her Long Jump debut for the Rams, freshman Jailah Channer placed 9^th in the competition

 
SPRINTS/HURDLES:
 

• Freshman Simone Pierre claimed 6^th place in the 200 Meters posting a time of 25.65
• In the 400 Meters, freshman Karah Moore took home 6^th place

 
 
UP NEXT: VCU will travel to Virginia Beach to compete in the Mason Father Diamond next weekend January 29-30
