BASEBALL ADDS 15

Richmond, Va. – VCU Baseball Head Coach Shawn Stiffler and the coaching staff announced the addition of 15 newcomers for the 2020-2021 season Monday. The Rams' most recent recruiting class includes four junior college transfers and one graduate transfer in addition to 10 incoming freshmen.

"This group of incomers is very special," said Stiffler. "Obviously we are thrilled with their athletic abilities and their commitment in the classroom. The incoming group of freshmen had their senior season, prom and graduation stolen from them, but through all of the uncertainty they have done everything we've asked of them and they showed up on campus ready to work."

VCU Baseball will be adding eight pitchers and seven position players to the roster. These young men join a program that has had a winning record each of the last nine years, including the last eight under Stiffler.

"As always, the credit goes to Rich Witten, Mike McRae and Josh Tutwiler. They have put together a class that has everything you are looking for on the field. Projectable athletes, front line arms, middle of the order bats and some dynamic defenders. These guys are going to be a ton of fun to work with," added Stiffler.
