RICHMOND, Va. – VCU Baseball was honored with two selections on the 2020 VaSID All-State University Teams it was announced Tuesday. Senior infielder
Steven Carpenter was named First Team All-State while outfielder
Brandon Henson was named Second Team All-State.

The Quinton, Va. native, Carpenter, played in all 17 games, making 15 starts before the 2020 season was suspended. He led the squad offensively with a .393 batting average. He notched 22 hits, scored 15 runs and drove in another 16. Carpenter had some pop off the bat with three doubles and two home runs on the season.

Henson was an important piece to the Rams' offense this season, appearing and starting in 14 games. The Reynoldsburg, Ohio native was VCU's most powerful hitter on the season, rocketing a team-high six home runs while adding two doubles and a triple for a .736 slugging percentage. In addition to his .321 batting average, he scored 10 runs and drove in a team-high 17 RBI.
