Opening Volley
  • Senior Kalah Jones finished with 17 kills, 11 digs and hit .275 for the match, but her effort wasn't enough as the VCU volleyball team dropped a 3-1 decision to Big 12 foe Kansas State.
  • Redshirt freshman Indigo Thompson registered 34 assists for the Rams, along with eight digs.

  • After Kansas State jumped out to 19-10 lead in the first set, VCU won six of the next eight points to get within 21-16, but ultimately dropped the first set 25-17.
  • Jones and freshman Tori Baldwin combined for eight kills in the second set as the Rams evened things up at 1-1 by taking the second set, 25-19.
  • KSU bounced back in full force, hitting .520 en route to a 25-10 win in the third set.
  • The two teams were back and forth to start the forth set, but with things square at 13-13, the Wildcats won nine of the next 12 points en route to a 25-18 clinching set.
