RICHMOND, Va. – VCU senior opposite
Julia Rienks (Dronryp, Netherlands) has been named Honorable Mention All-East Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), the organization announced Tuesday.
Â
Rienks' award comes on the heels of a senior season in which she was named First Team All-Atlantic 10 Conference for the second straight year and led the Rams to the A-10 Championship match.
Â
The 6-foot-2 Rienks assaulted the records books along the way. She racked up 446 kills in 2025, the sixth-most in program single-season history, and her 3.75 kills per set this year are the third-highest average ever by a Ram. Rienks, who also supplied VCU with 1.55 digs and 0.66 kills per set, while hitting .188, ranked third in the Atlantic 10 Conference in points per set (4.24).
Â
In two seasons in a VCU uniform after transferring from Daytona State College, Rienks piled up 768 kills and averaged 3.56 kills per set, which ranks third on the school's career list. In four collegiate seasons, Rienks totaled 1,249 kills.
