RAMS FINISH SECOND AT LIBERTY OPEN

The Short Story: Following a strong outing, including several top five finishes, the VCU Men's Track and Field team placed second overall at the Liberty Open on Saturday. Mohamed Adam, Matthew Earman and Andrew Hines all recorded first place performances. 

How It Happened:

  • Mohamed Adam and Bismillah Alidost took first and second in the one mile run. Adam crossed the line first in a time of 4:28.16, with Alidost close behind at 4:42.79.
  • In the 3K race, Matthew Earman (9:10.91) and Austin Lushinski (9:17.61) placed second and third, respectively. Earman also took home first place in the 5K, finishing with a time of 15:55.10.
  • With a time of 8.38 in the 60m hurdles, Kyle Martin took first in a close race.
  • Kareem Payne recorded a top five finish in the 60m dash, clocking a time of 7.24.
  • In the 1000m race, Calvin Wood finished third in a time of 2:34.43
  • Andrew Hines placed first in the shot put (16.65m). Brandon Ruffin placed second in the weight throw with a throw of 17.40m.
  • With a mark of 4.05m, Ryan Enos finished fourth in the pole vault.
