- The Short Story: Sophomore Yukako Noi and junior Salome Kvitashvili helped the VCU women's tennis team grab a 3-0 lead, but a late rally by Georgia State was too much as the Rams fell to the 65th-ranked Panthers, 4-3 on Saturday morning.
How It Happened
- VCU grabbed an early 1-0 lead after Kvitashvili and partner Olga Terteac won 8-5 at #2 doubles and Cindy Chala and partner Ludivine Burguiere won 8-6 at #3 doubles.
- Noi kept momentum with the Rams, dropping Masa Grgan 8-2 at #2 singles.
- Kvitashvili brought the Black & Gold within one point of taking the match with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Marcia Tere-Apisah at #3 singles.
- GSU responded with wins at #1, #3, #6 and #5 to pick up the win.
