- Trailing 1-0 in the match, VCU took a 12-11 lead in the second set and looked primed to tie up the contest. But the Shockers used an 11-3 burst to grab a 22-15 advantage and take control.
- In the third set, the Rams rallied from a 19-11 deficit to knot the match at 22-all following three straight points by Kriskova's hand (two kills, one block). However, WSU closed with a 3-0 spurt, punctuated by a pair of Katie Reilly kills, to secure the match.
