- The Short Story: After dropping the doubles point, the VCU Women's Tennis team rallied back to win the next five singles matches to beat Georgia State 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. The victory was the Rams' eighth straight and the 17th victory of the season.
How It Happened
- Junior Salome Kvitashvili earned the Rams' first point of the day with a straight set victory over Chamiaa Roudami 6-2, 6-2 in the fifth singles spot.
- In No. 2 singles, freshman Yukako Noi gave VCU its second point of the day. Noi dropped Masa Grgan in straight sets, 6-2, 7-6 (7-1).
- Junior Olga Terteac rolled at No. 4 singles for the Rams on Saturday. She picked up a straight set victory over Linn Timmermann, 7-6 (7-4), 6-2.
- The Rams picked up their fourth straight point at No. 6 singles. Freshman Olga Barscheuskaya won a three-set thriller over Jocelyn Ffriend 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.
- After dropping the first set, sophomore Cindy Chala rallied back to defeat No. 37 Abigail Tere-Apisah, 3-6, 6-3, 6-3 in No. 1 singles. The point clinched the match for VCU.
