VCU Volleyball freshman Lauren King has been named the Virginia Lottery Student-Athlete of the Week after she was also named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week. The freshman opened her collegiate career with three straight double-digit kill performances, while hitting .484. An opposite side hitter/middle blocker from Southfield, Mich., King averaged 3.67 kills and 0.89 blocks per set in three VCU victories. She accounted for 37 points across nine sets in the Rams opening two weekends. VCU swept all three matches against ODU, Liberty and Norfolk State.
