THE SHORT STORY
Freshman Monique McEnhimer scored her third goal in two games for VCU women's soccer, but Duquesne pulled ahead in the 85^th minute on a penalty kick. The Rams fell 2-1 on senior day at City Stadium.

• Eight of VCU's seniors were honored ahead of the game; Cierra Collins, Jazmin Jackson, Brianna Lawrence, Jensyn Lins, Ishpreen Marwah, Mia Pongratz, Kaylee Risher and Vivian Vendt
• McEnhimer scored her fifth goal of the season and brought her point total on the week to seven
• Shiori Shintaku was credited with the assist, raising her point total on the week to four
• VCU outshot Duquesne 18-7 and matched its season-high 10 shots on goal for the fourth time
• The Rams conceded seven corner kicks and earned two of their own
• Ali Hughes made nine saves for Duquesne

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Pongratz opened the game with a fourth-minute save, before VCU turned on the attack and belted three shots on goal and one attempt off the post in the first 17 minutes
• Duquesne broke through in the 29^th minute to open the scoring, taking a 1-0 lead
• In the opening minutes of the second half, VCU continued to create chances, but drew four saves out of Hughes before McEnhimer evened the score, 1-1, in the 66^th minute
• In the 85^th minute, Duquesne drew a penalty and converted the decisive goal for a 2-1 final
