VCU women's soccer answered an early UNCW goal on a Shiori Shintaku strike in the 25^th minute, battling out a scoreless final 65 minutes to a 1-1 draw with the unbeaten Seahawks on the road.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• UNCW's attack ramped up early, forcing a pair of saves from Pongratz in the first two minutes before Hailey Longwell got the Seahawks on the board first in the 11^th minute
• In the 25^th minute, Jackson crossed in a ball from the goal line and Shintaku laced her finish past a Seahawk defender from the center of the penalty box to even the score, 1-1
• Pongratz held it down with back-to-back saves at each post in the 29^th minute, not allowing the quick response that UNCW was searching for
• Nunn faced a pair of on-target shots in the 59^th and 60^th minutes, keeping the draw intact
• VCU didn't allow the Seahawks to place another shot on goal in the final 30 minutes, holding the 1-1 score through the final whistle
