RICHMOND, VA. – VCU men's soccer newcomer Kimarly Scott is taking a slight detour in his route to campus—through Puebla, Mexico, as he suits up to compete in the CONCACAF U-20 Championship with the Jamaica U-20 National Team.
 
Scott, a native of Kingston, Jamaica, was called up to represent his home country on the world stage with the Under-20 squad. The tournament results will determine CONCACAF's representatives at the 2027 FIFA U-20 World Cup and 2028 Summer Olympics. The Reggae Boyz look to build on their 28-goal qualifying campaign, in which they posted a 5-0-0 record.
 
The 19-year-old incoming Rams attacker most recently competed as an amateur with the back-to-back defending Jamaica Premier League (JPL) Cavalier FC, leading the team to the JPL finals after scoring a brace in a 2-0 semifinal victory. He tallied eight goals in his 20 matches, including five down the playoff stretch, and was named MP Sports Viewers Player of the Season.
 
In high school, Scott was played for Manning Cup and Olivier Shield Champion Excelsior High School, where he earned Manning Cup MVP in 2025 and was the Manning Cup's leading goalscorer in 2024 (29) and 2025 (20).
 
Jamaica will compete the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Group C alongside Canada, Honduras, and Panama, playing its group stage games in Puebla, Mexico. The top eight teams in the group stage will advance to quarterfinals on August 4-5 in Puebla, Mexico, with semifinals and finals taking place in Mexico City on August 7 and 9, respectively.
