Despite belting a season-high four home runs and scoring in the double-digits for the third time this season, VCU baseball fell in a 3-hour, 38-minute marathon against Old Dominion on Wednesday at The Diamond, 12-10.

LEADING OFF:
- The Rams combined for their fourth game with nine or more runs scored
- Opening the game, centerfielder Michael Petite smacked his team-leading fourth home run of the season
- Alec Warden tallied his first career home run and triple in the contest
- Jacob Lee belted his 20th career home run in a two-hit afternoon
- Old Dominion shortstop Will Johnson led the visitors with four hits

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Both teams scored in each of the three opening innings, including three home runs by Lee, Petite and Warden, but were even with a 6-6 score heading into the fourth frame
- Cooper Campbell tossed the first scoreless inning of the game in the top half of the fourth, and a first-pitch home run from Nick Flores in the bottom gave VCU the lead it would hold onto into the ninth inning
- In the fifth inning, the Rams extended their lead to 10-6 on a Monarch error and RBI groundout from Teige Lethert
- Old Dominion scored six unanswered runs over the final four innings, culminating in ninth inning with three unearned runs to take the game from the Rams, 12-10
