VCU baseball continued to stack wins on its weekend sweep, taking its fourth-straight victory over Longwood with a dominant performance out of the Rams' bullpen. The Lancers were held to just one run in the contest, while the Rams' offense stacked double-digit hitting to win 6-1.

LEADING OFF:
- VCU had 11 hits, marking its 14th game with a double-digit hit
- Jacob Lee launched his sixth home run of the year to enter the Rams' career top 10. The sophomore tied Joe Meador and Jim Lewentowicz at 10th all-time with 23 home runs
- Nick Flores extended his hitting streak to seven games, ticking his career hit total up to 98
- Eight of the Rams' nine starters tallied at least one hit, with Lee, Nate Kirkpatrick and Alec Warden collecting two apiece
- For the first time since VCU did it twice on opening weekend, the Rams gave up just one run
- Cooper Weygandt earned his first win in Black & Gold, tying career highs with 3.0 innings pitches and three strikeouts, while allowing one hit and no runs
- Caleb Clover and Brody Leyboldt each tossed a pair of innings and allowed just one hit each
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Rams surrendered their lone run of the game in the first inning, as a productive out from Jaedan Carter opened the scoring, 1-0
- VCU had its initial answer in the bottom of the first frame as Michael Petite and Kirkpatrick laced a pair of two-out hits to left field, tying the score at one apiece
- The only other scoring inning in the game was all VCU, as the Rams collected five runs on six hits, including bunt singles by both Warden and Flores
- Clover and Leyboldt held it down for the next four innings, allowing just four baserunners to keep VCU's 6-1victory intact
