The Short Story:Â VCU trailed George Washington 4-2 with 7:13 left in the first quarter before the Rams scored eight of nine unanswered to take a 10-5 lead and cruise to the win.
OPENING DRAW:
- VCU's 8-3 mark is the best overall start in school history. VCU's eight wins tie the program record for wins in a season since the program's first season in 2016
- The Rams' 4-1 start to A-10 play is the best mark in school history and one win shy of tying the school record of five
- Rachel Koeneke scored three goals and recorded three assists
- Kenson Epperly scored two goals and had two assists. She scored on both of her shot attempts
- Sam Palmer had three goals and one assist
- Amelia Eilbacher and Kiley Kozak each had three goals
- Lakelyn Bostain had a game-high nine draw controls
- VCU outshot the Revolutionaries 27-20 overall and 12-7 in shots on goal. The Rams held a 17-11 advantage in draw controls

HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU fell behind GW 4-2 with 7:13 remaining in the first quarter but Koeneke's goal marked the beginning of eight of nine unanswered for the Rams
- The Rams took a 10-5 lead with 12:15 left in the third quarter before the Colonials cut the lead to 10-7 with 8:30 left in the third
- VCU scored three unanswered goals in response as Koeneke put the Rams back up 13-7 with 3:29 left in the third quarter
- The Rams led by at least five goals for the remainder of the game in the win
