• Despite the Rams falling in the first match of their West Coast trip, Alfred Almasi secured his first singles and doubles victories since returning to the lineup from injury.

Doubles

• UC Irvine claimed the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 3. Nicolo Consonni and Gevorg Mnatsakanyan fell first on Court 1 6-3. Alfred Almasi and Erwann Bouchet responded on Court 2, evening the doubles point with a 6-2 victory. But the point ultimately came down to Court 3, where Leon Zaorski and Kostiantyn Mantach were bested 6-3.

Singles

• Alfred Almasi earned VCU's lone point of the afternoon, defeating Ruining Huang 3-6, 6-3, 1-0(5) in a super tiebreak. 
• Kostiantyn Mantach forced a third-set tiebreak after splitting the opening two sets, but ultimately fell 1-0(5).
