VCU baseball fell to nationally ranked No. 6 Coastal Carolina in the final day of Baseball at the Beach, 6-3, on Sunday.

LEADING OFF:
- Michael Petite hit his third home run in seven games as a Ram and scored a pair of runs
- Dante DeFranco also scored for VCU
- Petite, DeFranco and Quinn Maher were all hit by pitches, bringing the Rams' total on the season to 22
- Elias Holbert, a Coastal Carolina transfer to VCU, allowed just two baserunners in 2.0 hitless innings
- Coleman Bobb made his Division I debut and struck out a pair, sitting three Chanticleers down in order after surrendering a leadoff run
- VCU scored three runs but were held to one hit
- The Rams had a clean game in the field, committing no errors to Coastal's one
- Redshirt senior Brendan Horn tossed 6.0 no-hit innings, giving up one earned run and striking out six

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Coastal got on the board early, scratching three runs across in the opening two innings
- DeFranco drew a two-out HBP and Petite drove him home with a long ball to center field, getting the Rams within one run, 3-2
- Coastal scored a run in each of the next three innings, split by VCU's third and final run in the sixth inning on head's up baserunning
- VCU fell to the No. 6 Chanticleers with a final score of 6-2
