VCU women's soccer fell to Saint Louis, 2-1, on Thursday night at Sports Backers Stadium. The Rams pulled within a goal of the visitors off the boot of freshman
Isabelle Franklin, but unable to find the back of the net with an equalizer.

- Franklin scored her first career goal
- VCU made five saves, four of them by Mia Pongratz
- Franklin, Jensyn Lins and Keira McCloskey accounted for the Rams' shots on goal
- The teams were even in corner kicks with seven apiece

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Saint Louis opened the scoring with a penalty kick goal in the 16th minute following an unfortunate handball in the penalty area
- The Billikens extended their lead to a pair in the 40th minute
- Getting one back before the halfway mark, Franklin rocketed a failed-clearance by a Saint Louis defender across the goal and out of reach of goalkeeper Emma Parker to bring VCU within a goal, 2-1
- The Rams limited Saint Louis' chances in the second half, giving up just two shots on goal, both saved by Pongratz
- VCU fell 2-1 to the visitors
