The Short Story: VCU broke open a tie game with two fourth quarter goals in 1:02 of game time to earn a 3-1 win at Towson on Friday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • VCU struck first in the 10th minute as the Rams capitalized off a penalty corner. Macera fired a shot after an insert from Berhmann and a stick stop from Ventimiglia
  • The Rams held a 1-0 lead at halftime and a 7-5 shot advantage heading into the break
  • Towson tied the game in the 39th minute on the goal from Kaufman
  • Macera gave VCU the lead for good in the 50th minute as she converted on a penalty stroke
  • Jense put the game away just 1:02 later as she dribbled into the shooting circle and fired a shot past the Tigers' goalkeeper to make it 3-1
