HOW IT HAPPENED:

- McGrady entered in the second, allowing one inherited run to score on a sacrifice fly before stranding three Revs
- After two scoreless frames, Dressler entered in the fifth inning to continue holding George Washington off at the plate
- Freshman second baseman Nick Flores got the Rams on the board in the sixth with a sacrifice fly, cutting the lead to 4-1
- In the seventh inning, three doubles made it a one-run ballgame as Kirkpatrick sliced one to left field and Jacob Lee and Will Henson followed suit to score a pair of runs
- Leaving two on base in the eighth and unable to get runners on base in the ninth, VCU fell just short of extending the game, falling 4-3
