Boasting the second highest team GPA among all Division I teams and 20 individually honored student-athletes, the program fosters a culture of committed learners on and off the field. Donor funds on Giving Day empower the program to enhance the student-athlete experience through dedicated academic resources.
"A massive 'Thank you' for your continued support, Ram Nation!" head coach Stacey Bean said. "With your help, we have been able to provide our student-athletes with a first class experience on and off the field at VCU. We are forever grateful for your generosity, and for your willingness to help us create an atmosphere that promotes the growth and development of our student-athletes."
Six field hockey student-athletes earned 2024 All-Atlantic 10 honors, led by Morena Macera on the first team. In order to continue attracting top-level talent and high-achieving scholars to the program, the Rams need to enhance their training and wellness offerings to stay on par with Power Four programs.
"Balancing a demanding Division I sport with rigorous academic courses is no easy task, but donor support makes it so much more achievable," sophomore Emma Clements said. "Your generosity provides us with access to incredible resources, such as nutritionists, career advisors, tutoring programs, sports psychologists, and so much more, all at no cost. These resources not only help us perform at our best on the field but also allow us to grow as individuals off the field. Your support means the world to us, inspiring us to strive for greatness, knowing we have a community behind us every step of the way."
