THE SHORT STORY: The Rams picked up their second consecutive midweek run-rule win with their fourth victory in the last five games on Tuesday night, using three big innings to take down William & Mary, 16-4.

LEADING OFF:
- Nick Flores and Trent Adelman each had three-hit days
- Flores and Will Henson hit back-to-back home runs in the contest
- Also belting a single and double on the evening, Flores was a triple away from the cycle
- Adrian Jimenez had his fourth consecutive multi-hit game with a pair of singles
- Driving in five runs, Swenson led the team in the mark
- Miles Garrett tossed 4.0 innings and struck out two in his start
- Out of the bullpen, Jack Hoeymans earned the victory for his second win of the year
- VCU combined to strike out nine Tribe players
- The Rams led the contest with 14 hits to William & Mary's 10

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- VCU started strong with a four-spot in the opening inning, starting the contest with a three hits and a walk in the first four at-bats, Jimenez's single beginning the scoring
- The Tribe got one back in the first, but a run scored on a wild pitch and Swenson's first two-RBI hit led the way to a 7-1 lead
- Had another big inning in the fifth with Henson and Flores belting their back-to-back home runs
- Hoeymans got out of a jam in the sixth inning to hang a zero, stranding three Tribe players on base to keep the nine-run lead intact
- In the seventh inning, a wild pitch scored William & Mary's fourth run of the contest, but McCollough stranded a pair
- Lee sacrificed and Adelman's third hit scored the run for the mercy-rule and Swenson belted a two-run double for the final, 16-4
- Elijah Coston closed the contest with a quick 1-2-3 frame in the bottom of the eighth
