HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Rams fell behind 4-1 after the first quarter with George scoring a goal
- Liberty extended its lead to 7-2 with 5:05 left in the second quarter but back-to-back goals from the Rams cut the deficit to 7-4 with 3:29 left before halftime. VCU would trail 8-4 at the half
- The Flames and Rams each scored twice to start the third quarter and VCU trailed 10-6 with 4:38 left in the third
- Liberty broke the game open by scoring five unanswered goals across the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth to build a 15-6 lead with 8:23 left in the contest
- VCU scored the game's final two goals but was unable to overcome the deficit
