Kalina Pylinska turned in an all-around performance and classmate
Julia Rienks recorded her 1,000
th career kill as VCU completed a weekend series sweep at Saint Louis Saturday.

OPENING VOLLEY
- Pylinska was one of four Rams to reach double-figure kills. The native of Poland registered 10 kills, 13 digs, five aces and a solo block. She hit .216 on 37 tries
- Rienks downed 10 kills and booked four blocks in the contest
- VCU senior Alicja Jaryszek and sophomore Letizia Galli were credited with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Galli added three blocks and two service aces, while Jaryszek supplied eight digs
- Freshman middle Sarah Dibbs-Frantz chipped in eight kills and three blocks, while hitting .533 on 15 swings for the Rams
- Ellie Rink led all players with 14 kills for the BillikensÂ
THE DIFFERENCE
- Other than the second set, the Rams were largely in control all afternoon. VCU never trailed in the first or third frame, and in the fourth, the Black and Gold built leads of 8-5 and 20-15 on the way to a 25-23 win
- VCU served up nine aces Saturday and totaled 20 in two matches against the Billikens during the weekend
- The Rams set the tone in the first set, hitting .333 overall, while storming to a 22-10 lead. VCU would eventually claim a 25-18 win
NOTABLE
- VCU completed a 3-0 week with Saturday's win. The Rams topped Davidson 3-2 on Tuesday, before defeating SLU in five sets on Friday
- Rienks racked up 481 kills in two seasons at Daytona State College (Fla.) prior to joining the Rams last year
- The Black and Gold improved to 20-4 all-time against Saint Louis
