- The Rams doubled their lead to 2-0 in the 12th minute as Behrmann scored on a rebound following a save from a Macera shot attempt
- VCU increased its lead to 3-0 in the 17th minute as Jense scored
- The Chippewas got back within 3-1 just before halftime on a penalty corner
- Deaver and Butler both scored in the first 4:30 of the second half to push the lead to 5-1 in the 35th minute
- Macera scored the game's final goal in the 47th minute on an assist from Jense
