THE SHORT STORY
VCU women's soccer earned a point on the road Thursday night, fighting to a scoreless draw in a defensively dominant performance. The Rams limited the Explorers to just one shot on goal en route to their first Atlantic 10 draw.

  • Brianna Lawrence fired a rocket on goal in the 10th minute for the first scoring chance of the match
  • In the 40th minute, La Salle had their first attempt on goal, but Pongratz's save maintained the scoreless game into the half
  • The Explorers replicated their first-half four shots, but were unable to get one on target
  • Around the 70th minute, Marwah and Franklin each added their second attempts on net, but La Salle goalkeeper Mackenna Yaracs fade her fifth and sixth stops of the night
  • Lins added a pair more shots in the final two minutes, but the scoreless match held as VCU picked up a point on the road
