WASHINGTON, D.C. – VCU women's soccer freshman
Isabelle Franklin earned her league-leading third Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor, the conference announced Monday.
Â
The forward tallied her team-leading fifth assist on the game-winning goal in VCU's 2-1 victory over cross-town rival Richmond on Thursday. On Sunday, she drew the penalty that led to the Rams' goal at Loyola Chicago.
Â
Franklin has been outstanding for the Rams in her debut season, sitting at second on the team with nine points, including a pair of goals. Her five assists are tied for the second most in the conference.
Â
The Fort Meade, Maryland, native joins Loyola Chicago's Allison Deardorff and Dayton's Batoul Reda, who have each been named Defensive Player of the Week, as they only players to repeat three weekly A-10 honors.
Â
Franklin also marks first Ram to win Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week three times since current teammate
Kendyl Sarver did it in her 2022 Rookie of the Year campaign.
