VCU women's soccer fell to Duquesne in a midweek Atlantic 10 matchup on the road, 3-0.
PITCH SIDE
- Mia Pongratz tied her career-high eight saves
- Y-Van Nguyen led the Rams with three shots
- Five different Rams recorded shots on goal
- Kendyl Sarver played her first full 90 since returning from injury
- VCU was outshot 26-11 and the Dukes held the edge with 11 shots on goal to the Rams' five
- Duquesne remained undefeated at home, still allowing just one goal at Rooney Field the entire season
HOW IT HAPPENED
- VCU played an offensive first 13 minutes of the contest as both Keira Connolly and Sarver placed shots on the Duquesne goal
- The Dukes held a 1-0 lead at the half after opening the scoring in the contest in the 21st minute
- Coming back from the half, VCU prevented a successful Duquesne attack until the 60th minute and Pongratz made her fourth save of the night
- Breaking through in the 66th minute and again in the 83rd minute, the Dukes extended their lead to secure the A-10 victory
