VCU women's soccer was unable to secure its third consecutive win, falling to Loyola Chicago on the road, 4-1, on Sunday.

  • Y-Van Nguyen converted on the first penalty kick attempt of her career
  • Nguyen became the sixth Ram with multiple goals this season
  • Kendyl Sarver and Keira Connolly led VCU with two shots on goal apiece

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Isabelle Franklin drew a penalty in the 25th minute and Nguyen converted on the kick, giving the Rams a 1-0 lead
  • Loyola answered a minute later as Emily Rossi laced a free kick from 18 yards out just out of reach of a diving Pongratz
  • The 1-1 score held through the half, but the Ramblers took their first lead of the contest in the 48th minute, 2-1
  • Loyola tacked on a pair more goals in the 81st and 85th minute, taking down visiting VCU by a 4-1 final score
 
UP NEXT
VCU will continue its road trip at La Salle in Philadelphia on Thursday, Oct. 23, to conclude its regular season road schedule. Then, the Rams will play their final regular season contest at home on Oct. 26 as they celebrate senior night.
