LINS’ THIRD GAME-WINNING GOAL LIFTS RAMS OVER SPIDERS

THE SHORT STORY
VCU women's soccer secured three points against Richmond, scoring its pair of goals nearly 75 minutes apart. Ishpreen Marwah got the scoring started in the sixth minute and Jensyn Lins knocked in her game-winner in the 80th to take down Richmond, 2-1, Thursday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In just the sixth minute, VCU took its early 1-0 lead over the Spiders as Marwah tipped in a ball-in from Jackson in the corner
  • Kendyl Sarver's placed one on goal in the 21st minute, but Rrapi made her first save
  • The Spiders evened the match in the 27th minute as a collision in the goal area took down Mia Pongratz
  • The Rams more than doubled their shot total in the second half, making 14 attempts, but Lins found the back of the net in the 80th minute through the gloves of Rrapi
  • VCU picked up its second-straight A-10 victory, 2-1
 
UP NEXT
VCU will return to the road for its next pair of games, taking on the Ramblers of Loyola Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, on Sunday, Oct. 19, before continuing to La Salle in Philadelphia on Thursday, Oct. 23. Then, the Rams will play their final regular season contest at home on Oct. 26 as they celebrate senior night.
