THE SHORT STORY
VCU women's soccer responded to an early 1-0 deficit with three goals to secure its third Atlantic 10 victory on Saturday evening at George Mason. Kendyl Sarver, Keira Connolly and Jazmin Jackson combined for the Rams' most goals this season in the 3-1 win.
 
PITCH SIDE

• Connolly scored the first goal of her career
• Sarver tallied her second three-point game of the season
• With the Rams' third goal, Jackson scored her second this year
• Defender Ishpreen Marwah notched her first career point with an assist and placed a career-high two shots on goal
• VCU outshot George Mason 13-8 with eight shots on goal to Mason's three
• The Rams tied the most wins in a season since 2023

 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• George Mason opened the scoring in just the third minute, when the Rams conceded a penalty kick
• VCU battled back to a tie game, 1-1, in the first half as Sarver entered on a substitution in the 26th minute and found the back of the net just 22 seconds later
• In the 58^th minute, Connolly launched a strike about 30 yards and just over the extended gloves of Patriot goalkeeper Libby Davy to take a 2-1 lead
• Closing out the scoring and securing the Rams' 3-1 victory, Jackson tapped a pass into the left corner in the 62^nd minute
