HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The first quarter was a defensive battle, the Flyers outscored the Rams just 12-10
- VCU struggled offensively in the second quarter as Dayton outscored VCU 17-6 during the 10 minutes and pushed its lead with a 10-0 run to with a 29-16 lead
- Dayton led by as many as 26 points in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter before VCU made a 6-0 run got VCU within 57-37
- The Rams outscored Dayton in the final quarter 22-19
