The short story:Â VCU was unable to recover from Richmond's 15-2 run to start the game as it fell to crosstown rival Richmond on Sunday afternoon.

- Mykel Parham had her sixth consecutive game with double-digit rebounds, grabbing a game-high 13
- Richmond shot 53.3 percent from the field and an efficient 43 percent from 3-point range, going 12-of-28 from deep. The Rams struggled from deep, shooting just 25 percent and going 5-of-20

- Richmond started the game on an 15-2 run and led by that margin with 5:02 left in the first quarter
- The Rams trailed the Spiders 21-7 after the first quarter
- A 12-0 run gave Richmond a 35-9 lead with 4:41 left before halftime. VCU trailed 44-15 at halftime
- VCU was unable to overcome the deficit in the second half
